Ce soir-là, Jeanne Moreau est invitée dans une émission de télévision réalisée par Jean-Christophe Averty. Elle se séparait rarement de sa cigarette. Comme Brigitte Bardot elle était une icône que le cinéma a encensé depuis les années cinquante. D’ailleurs, les deux stars du grand écran ont tourné ensemble dans le film culte de Louis Malle : «Viva Maria». Brigitte parlait de sa rivale en ces termes : «Simple, mais sophistiquée, chaleureuse, mais dure, séduisante mais redoutable, enfin, je la trouvais telle que je l’imaginais, avec son extraordinaire pouvoir de séduction qui dissimulait mal son caractère d’acier trempé. […] Je comprenais que les hommes en soient fous ».

That evening, Jeanne Moreau had been invited to appear on a television programme produced by Christophe Averty. She was rarely seen without a cigarette.  Like Brigitte Bardot, she was an icon whom the film world had acclaimed since the fifties. Furthermore, the two stars of the silver screen had worked together on cult film “Viva Maria” by Louis Malle. Brigitte described her rival as, “Down-to-earth yet sophisticated, warm but hard, seductive but fearsome. I found her to be just as I’d imagined, with an extraordinary power of seduction that failed to hide her hardened steel character. […] I could see that men were crazy about her.”

В этот день Жанна Моро участвовала в передаче Жан-Кристофа Аверти. Как всегда, она не расставалась с сигаретой. Как и Бриджит Бардо, начиная с пятидесятых годов, Моро была настоящей иконой кино. Кстати, они вместе снимались в культовом фильме Луи Маля «Вива, Мария!»  Бриджит говорила о сопернице так: «Простая, но – мудрая, душевная – но упрямая, соблазнительная – но опасная, – она оказалась именно такой, как я себе ее представляла. Ее невероятная соблазнительность скрывает за собой твердый, как сталь, характер. […] Я понимаю, почему она сводит мужчин с ума».
